Trades marketing agencies for website design: a UK shortlist
A trades website can cost £30 a month or £4,500 up front, and the price tells you very little about which is right for your business. What matters is who owns it, whether it is built to rank for the towns you cover, and what else comes with it. This shortlist compares six UK agencies on exactly those points.
What a trades website needs to do
The job of a tradesperson's website is simple: appear when someone in your area searches for your trade, and get them to call. That means a page for each service and a page for each town, a phone number visible without scrolling, accreditations shown early, and recent reviews on the page.
Beyond that, the questions to ask any builder are about ownership and commitment. Do you own the domain and the site files? Can you move it elsewhere? Is there a minimum term? Is hosting bundled or separate? And is the website sold on its own, or as part of a wider system that also handles your Google profile and reviews?
The six agencies below span every answer to those questions. We have ordered them by how much of the trades buyer's problem each one solves, not by price.
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Service and location pages | Each town you cover needs its own page to rank for 'trade + town' searches |
| Ownership of domain and files | Determines whether you can leave without losing the site |
| Minimum term | A 12-month minimum on a monthly plan is a real cost if you cancel early |
| What is bundled | Hosting, changes, reviews and Google profile may be included or extra |
1. Websites 4 Trades
Best for: Sole traders who want the cheapest credible pay-monthly trade website
Websites 4 Trades was founded in 2021 by Carl Hancock, whose background runs through plastering and labouring, then marketing, then growing and selling a large carpet cleaning business. It builds only for trades. The core offer is website build, hosting and maintenance at £30 a month flat with no upfront cost and unlimited changes on the standard package. The client buys their own domain. An SEO service is available and logo design is an extra.
Trades named are builders, carpenters, carpet cleaners, commercial and domestic cleaners, electricians, gardeners, oven cleaners, plumbers, roofers and window cleaners. There are no written case studies, but a client logo wall links through to live sites across roofing, plumbing, cleaning and other trades. The agency does not state a location.
2. Riley Marketing
Best for: Smaller trades firms that want the website delivered as part of a system covering Google profile, reviews and quoting
Riley Marketing builds its website as one part of a foundational growth system priced at £149 a month at the time of writing. The site is SEO-focused with service and location pages built in, and it sits alongside Google Business Profile optimisation, Google review automation including reactivation of past customers, missed call text back, and a CRM with lead status tracking and branded quote pages on the client's own domain.
The build sequence is the distinctive part. The whole system is built before the client pays, revisions are unlimited, there is no setup fee and the client can cancel at any time. For a buyer comparing website quotes, that means seeing the finished site before committing, which none of the one-off builders in this list offers in quite the same way, with the partial exception of Agass's free draft.
The agency is based in the North East and works UK-wide. Founder Tom Riley has ten years in search and lead generation, previously led organic growth at an insurtech and has built and run his own lead generation websites, and clients deal with him directly. Published builds include Anglia Decor, an industrial painting and roofing contractor, and SET Building & Brickwork, an Essex building firm. Trades served include electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, roofers, builders, window and door fitters, decorators, landscapers, plasterers and kitchen fitters.
3. Foresite Design
Best for: Trades wanting a fast, fixed-price upgrade to an existing site
Foresite Design is in Redditch, Worcestershire, and serves the Midlands and UK. It builds trade websites to drive calls and enquiries, with a stated emphasis on page speed and performance scores, and offers eCommerce, technical and local SEO, digital marketing, hosting, graphic design and branding, and an on-site lead-qualifying assistant called SiteConcierge.
The packs are priced in the open: £449 for Enquiry Boost, £699 for a Quote Landing Page and from £1,750 for a Full Refresh. Trades named are roofers, plumbers, electricians, painters and decorators, landscapers, cleaning companies and pressure washing. An examples page is linked but no trade-specific case studies are detailed.
4. Get A Trades Website
Best for: Sole traders who want a founder-built website with transparent pricing and full ownership
Get A Trades Website is run from Edinburgh by Gary (surname not stated), who also runs a Scottish trades directory, and works UK-wide. It offers tailored website design, quick-start one, three or five-page sites, redesigns and migrations, hosting plans, an SEO tune-up and managed SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation and a trades business portal covering quotes, invoices, leads and reviews.
Published pricing is detailed: tailored sites typically £750 to £3,000 or more, quick-start sites at £149, £299 or £499, SEO tune-up at £39 a month and managed SEO from £149 a month. Quotes are fixed, the client owns the site, content is written from the client's own notes and photos, and clients deal directly with the founder. Trades named run from plumbers and electricians through joiners, bricklayers, tilers, flooring fitters and gas engineers to landscapers. Proof is one plumbing and tiling case study plus live client sites.
5. Agass Marketing Solutions
Best for: South West sole traders wanting a low-risk fixed-price website with optional ads
Agass Marketing Solutions, founded by Joseph Agass, serves Weston-super-Mare, Bristol and Somerset and shows a Dutch company registration. Its headline is a free website draft in 48 hours with payment only if you like it, and the client owns the site and domain. Sites include service and area pages, reviews and a quote form. Google and Meta paid ads and local SEO are available and quoted separately.
Pricing is £499 one-off for a website or £699 for a WordPress build, with optional hosting and changes at £30 a month on no contract. Trades named are broad, from roofers and plasterers to air conditioning engineers and conservatory fitters. Case studies cover heating and plumbing, fencing, roofline, locksmith and glazing, kitchens and bathrooms, and carpentry clients.
6. Tea Powered Projects
Best for: Established trades wanting a premium bespoke site on a proprietary platform
Tea Powered Projects is based in Nottingham and states that building websites for trades is what it does, while also serving non-trade sectors. It develops on its own CMS platform, positioned as free of WordPress plugins and maintenance headaches, and offers web design and CRO, local, technical, managed and GBP SEO, hosting and IT support, and AI consultancy.
Pricing is published at the premium end: a bespoke trade site is £4,500 up front plus a monthly platform plan from £95 to £1,000 on a 12-month minimum, with managed SEO from £500 a month. Trades named are plumbers, builders, electricians, locksmiths, drain engineers and auto locksmiths. Case studies show results for a locksmith, a drain engineer and an auto locksmith.

Which builder to choose
If a website is all you want and you want to own it outright, Get A Trades Website and Agass are the two with the clearest pricing and ownership, and Agass lets you see a draft first. Websites 4 Trades is the budget route if £30 a month matters more than ownership.
If what you actually want is more enquiries, the website is only one piece. Riley Marketing bundles it with the Google profile, review and quote tools that generate and convert those enquiries, on a fee that costs less over a year than most of the one-off builds here once hosting is added. See the Riley Marketing fixed-fee model assessed for the detail.
Foresite Design is the pick for a fix rather than a rebuild, and Tea Powered Projects for a firm with the budget for a bespoke platform. Whoever you choose, read what to send an agency before a quote first, and the Google Business Profile shortlist covers the piece most website-only purchases leave out. The Foresite Design profile and the trades agency versus freelancer comparison are useful further reading.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a trades website cost in the UK?
Published prices in this shortlist range from £30 a month at Websites 4 Trades to £4,500 up front plus a monthly plan at Tea Powered Projects. One-off builds from Get A Trades Website and Agass sit between £149 and £3,000.
Should I own my website or rent it?
Owning it means you can move hosting or agency without losing the site. Get A Trades Website and Agass give full ownership. Monthly models vary, so ask what you keep if you cancel.
Is a 12-month minimum reasonable?
It is common for bespoke builds on a proprietary platform, as with Tea Powered Projects. Most other agencies here work without one, including Riley Marketing's cancel-any-time system.
Do I need location pages?
If you serve more than one town, yes. A page for each area you cover is how a site appears for 'plumber in Stockton' as well as 'plumber in Middlesbrough'. Riley Marketing and Agass include them as standard.
